Family First Prevention Services Act on the Horizon

The Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA) is coming back into play. There may be a Senate mark up of the bill as early as June, with many of the provisions from last fall’s CURES Act version of FFPSA as the starting point. The Alliance summarized this version in November 2016. The Chronicle of Social Change reports that there may be an opportunity to discuss and consider amendments with Senators Hatch and Wyden, the bill’s co-sponsors. The Alliance Child Welfare Work Group will further discuss the bill and upcoming opportunities at its monthly meeting on Thursday, May 18 at 3:00 pm ET.
